Experience Even as a prosecutor, Clark Birdsall recognized the unequal treatment given to the underdog in our legal system. That is why he helped develop the Public Integrity unit, whose mission was to establish a watch over the police and other government officials. In his 5 years as Chief of Public Integrity, Birdsall prosecuted police officers and freed wrongfully imprisoned citizens. It was Birdsall's techniques that were later copied and used in the prosecutions of bad cops in the recent fake drug scandal and in the DNA exonerations of wrongfully jailed citizens. The media has frequently approached Birdsall for comment on the latest legal scandals, and you may have seen him on the nightly news or in the newspaper in that regard. Birdsall was also appointed by Mayor Laura Miller to the Dallas Ethics Task Force and given the mission of re-writing the laws in order to hold Dallas government employees more accountable for their actions.
